Eat Like No One Is Watching / Come Como Si Nadie Te Mirara

BIRGITTE BAKED A CAKE.
BIRGITTE PREPARÓ UN PASTEL.
La version español está después de la versión inglés.

I'M PRETTY SURE it's supposed to be "Dance" like no one is watching. OK, I know it's supposed to be "Dance."

But, here are some examples of the food we ate in Bergen at restaurants and at the homes of our cousins ... like no one was watching.

First are photos from a night at Bruggeloftet & Stuene Restaurant with cousins Ellen and Hanne-Beate and Håkon. We now understand why this is one of Ellen's favorite restaurants.

Then, a second night at Bruggeloftet & Stuene (because it was that good) with cousins Birgitte and Sam.

And then two meals at Birgitte and Sam's.

I couldn't do it. It's of course a very gamey meat and I've never been fond of gamey. However, I find myself avoiding red meat now after meeting the adorable "kids" at the farm. Mostly fish.

  5. Hanne-Patata eh? I bet you had/kept them laughing, Mitch.

Hanne-Patata could pull her own weight. She is so sweet and so funny. I loved the reindeer stew that Birgitte made, but I didn't have it in the restaurants. It's much too gamey a taste for me. Jerry loves it. But, after meeting all those baby goats, I found myself sticking to fish... and have been doing so since we've been home.

  6. I bet reindeer was was delicious. How does it compare with venison? I think Norway charmed you with her fish.

Jerry says it's very similar, but richer. Another gamey meat. And, you're right, I was in heaven with all the fish. I seem to be making the switch from meat.

  7. Looks so good all of it. But I couldn't do the reindeer. I cut my meats off at chicken pork beef, and even pork and beef is far and few between.

I'm coming around to sticking to fish and chicken lately. I didn't have reindeer in the restaurants.

  9. Great pictures. I'll be posting a few food shots from our trip but they aren't nearly as good as yours. Photographing food is definitely an art.

Thanks. The first night's lighting wasn't great. We lucked out with a window table the second night and we were in the land of the midnight sun, so it was great for photos.

Some of the best fish of all kinds that I've ever had. The halibut was unbelievable.
